Celebrating Cinco de Mayo and Freebies!

Happy Cinco de Mayo!!!!  Don’t you just love all things Mexican?  From the telenovelas to papulsas to Tejano music and Selena (one of my favorite singers in world).  Restaurants and stores all over offer discounts for Cinco de Mayo to get in on the action, even pizza places (which has nothing to do with the holiday).

We like to celebrate Cinco de Mayo in the following ways:

  • Decorate the house
  • Eat our fill of tamales and other goodies
  • Make homemade flan for dessert
  • Binge watch our favorite Mexican films
  • Attend a Cinco de Mayo parade
  • Have a family discussion of the contributions that Mexicans have made to this world and their ongoing struggles with the constant dehumanization at the hands of governments.
  • Have a family dance off to Mexican music such as Selena and Putumayo

Take a listen here and enjoy!
